Occupational Health
Welcome to the Guys’ and St. Thomas’ Occupational Health Service (OHS).
Work – or lack of it – has a profound impact on our health. Well-managed, suitable work promotes health and wellbeing. Guy’s and St. Thomas’ professional and affordable Occupational Health Service can enable you and your employees to create a workplace that is supportive of and conducive to good health for those who work there.
At Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust we are one of the largest NHS OHS in the country, and has been providing both internal and external Occupational Health services since 1982.
The OHS consists of a range of teams – nursing, medical, administrative, counselling and safety, combining their skills and expertise to provide expert clinical occupational health care. To facilitate the smooth operation of our services, each of our businesses has a named member of the OH team. This provides you with a personal link to your business and enables us to tailor your occupational health service to meet your requirements.
The service is currently led by Dr. David Snashall, Clinical Director and Mandy Murphy, General Manager with support from Helen Kay, Lead Nurse and Myra Bradbrook, Contract Manager
With our fully integrated electronic systems we are able to offer a vast range of services to assist organisations to create a healthy workplace. They include:
- Full onsite and offsite managed service
- Nationally supported services through our regional NHS colleagues
- Pre-employment screening service
- Managing sickness absence advice
- Travel and work related vaccinations services
- Counselling services
- Integrated Rehabilitation and return to work packages (complete case management incorporating physiotherapy and psychiatry where required and led by the Rehabilitation Nurse Manager)
