Guy's and St Thomas' provides acute and specialist hospital service for 600,000 patients every year. More than two thirds live locally but people are referred from throughout the UK and beyond to its internationally renowned specialist centres of excellence.

The associated Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Allied Sciences train doctors, dentists and technologists and is at the forefront of medical research.

Formed in 1993, the Trust is one of the largest in the UK. It brings together two renowned teaching hospitals each with an international clinical reputation: St Thomas' and Guy's.

MISSION STATEMENT
  • To promote the National Health Service and in particular Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in the national and international market.
  • To implement commercial healthcare contracts utilising skills of Trust personnel, other NHS personnel and private companies as appropriate, to generate ethical profit for re-investment within the Trust for improved patient care delivery.
  • To monitor and review alternative healthcare delivery practices and developments in the UK and other countries and to advise where such practices might be beneficial to the Trust.


St Thomas' Hospital founded in the 12th Century next to the River Thames, directly opposite Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.


Guy's Hospital was established in 1721 next to London Bridge on the River Thames.

CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT

Corporate Development is the commercial consultancy, marketing and business development Directorate of the Trust with resources that can provide healthcare expertise both in the UK and internationally to Government and Private Sectors. Profits generated are re-invested by the Trust into further improving its patient care services.
